This painting is of a statue depicting the Roman goddess Venus, who is associated with love, beauty, victory and fertility. She is a widely celebrated figure in art for her renowned beauty and influence, famously portrayed in Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus", which is what inspired me to paint her. This painting is meant to portray Venus' elegance and celebrate renaissance historic art.
