Original oil painting on linen.
2026

Its the simple paintings that can be the most impactful, just a scene of dark opal clouds, a hill and a few rays of light slicing through the land and sky. For those who don't know, I do try to subtly use my work to raise awareness for its conservation and have been told that my work has a very hopeful atmosphere compared to other works that engage in similar matters, and I try to stick to that because my goal as an artist is to capture the grandeur across the entire natural world before it changes. That's because I believe that we protect what we hold dear and what brings us joy. But we have to show the darkness for the light to be seen, which is why at first you might think this painting is a little dark, but hopefully this stunning display of light that illuminates both the land and sky will make you see this is a painting full of hope for a brighter future.
